Office Makeover

It’s so important loving where you work, being around people who encourage you and loving the difference you make! But it is just as important to love the place where you spend so much of your time. This office makeover was a super quick turnaround, but with huge results.

After avoiding going to the office for months, our client decided to put in the time to make the office more enjoyable. With a little help from us, we used what they already had (a rug and a couch) and began designing. Their wish list: increased productivity, feeling proud to bring clients to the office, and to increase their storage. We decided to paint the walls a blue-grey and the acoustical ceiling tiles black. Doing this makes the low ceiling feel a bit further away and conceals the watermarks and age of the tiles— an easier fix than replacing them.

We included texture in the storage boxes below, selected a warm toned console table and added some additional lighting. Their smaller accessories were displayed on a shelf, which maximized their table space. Pretty folders were displayed on the wall, as well as some colorful art.

Our client desperately needed storage. Although filing cabinets are ever present in the office, we decided on these adorable storage boxes. The neutral grasscloth and the mother of pearl handles elevate the space and make for functional and quick access.

December's Color of the Month

Screen_Shot_2019-02-22_at_9.26.43_AM.png

Here at Paige Williams Design, we love the luxurious feel of a deep teal color. We think it is both calming and mood-boosting! Teal can stand on its own as a dramatic piece or lend itself as a show-stopping accent color. It pairs itself well to other blues, grays, and it looks quite glamorous paired with gold. It is most definitely a favorite here at the office, we hope you love it too.

Hey, check out some of our inspiration’s behind Oceanside!

Hey everyone!
That wraps up the end of the year! We so hoped you enjoyed learning a little bit more about color through 2019. Looking forward to what’s in store for us in 2020. Happy New Year!

November's Color of the Month

Lilac is a unique color in that it is both cool and warm, with its mix of blue and red. It is sacred in nature, we see Lilacs on walks in the early spring. Some background on the Lilac plant: according to Greek Mythology, Pan, the god of forests and fields, was enamored by a nymph named Syringa (Lilac’s scientific name). One day he followed her through the woods but afraid of his advances, she turned herself into a bush— the lilac shrub. Today, we know it as Lilac, and it still remains feminine, beautiful and awe-inspiring.

Feel free to take a peek at some of our own color inspiration!

Hey!
Thanks for checking in with us, we love sharing our inspirations and a little history with you. See you next month!

What to Expect at your First Design Presentation...

Typically we prefer to meet in the office for our first presentation. We prefer this for a few reasons. Unless your home is a blank slate and you've only just moved in—there are always distractions. And we want to give a chance for both of us to provide our full attention. Additionally, it's challenging to imagine drastic changes in a space you're occupying. And it helps us to better prepare for our presentation together.

Beauty and Functionality

A well thought out floorplan is nothing short of beautiful. Often, we will have a few iterations to discuss. We give you these options because where one plan may work, one might work a little better for you! (and please, never try to spare our feelings if we select something you don't just absolutely love! This only prolongs the process of learning what is right for you!

We don't just wish to make your space 'pretty'; we want it to function better for you too. We consider this when we select durable fabrics, space plan efficiently, maximize space and consider real-life happening. We want your home to look like a magazine, but we have to figure out where the recycling goes too!

Decisions

After seeing all the options-- its time to make some decisions! We have already pared down ALOT! Now, you have to figure out what feels right and where you gravitate. We will have it organized, be honest, and trust the process.

While we are making these decisions together, were determining who we need to contact. Decisions on beautiful window treatments, new cabinets in the kitchen, art in the hallways, and an extra light switch near the front door? These small changes require a lot of help and a lot of planning on our part!

Moving Forward

Depending on the size of the project and the decisions made will influence the need for future meetings. After this meeting, we will begin another proposal for you. We will be contacting our subcontractors to confirm quotesquantities, and lead times to get a clearer picture of how the process will unfold and become a reality. Please allow 1-2 weeks for us to hear back from our subcontractors and gather all the information for you. Once the proposal is agreed upon, we will begin ordering and scheduling appointments!
